SPECIAL NEEDS & DISABILITIES

Navigating Resolutions provides mediation and consulting services to families facing challenging decisions. Families with individuals having special needs which are present at birth, develop over time, or result from accident, illness or the aging process, often face serious issues. These require a range of supplemental resources that may relate to education or healthcare for the disabled individual. Additionally, they may extend to broader family concerns including sibling relationships, time management, financial planning, custody and marital issues. Situations are not static; they may need to be revisited over time as physical, emotional, educational and financial needs change. As impartial third parties, our mediators can help facilitate difficult conversations, negotiations and solutions to disagreements within a family or with the professionals working with your child or family member.

Through mediation you can:

  • Identify issues and set goals
  • Prioritize the needs of your family
  • Create a cooperative, problem-solving environment
  • Minimize the emotional impact of conflict
  • Strengthen on-going relationships
  • Keep family matters private and confidential
