Barbara Marcus


Barbara Marcus is a mediator, trainer, and conflict coach with experience handling family, civil, and housing disputes. She is a founding partner of Navigating Resolutions, an alternative dispute resolution practice. Barbara received training at the Harvard Mediation Program at Harvard Law School, Cheshire Mediation, Keene NH and University of Massachusetts, Boston. In addition, she has received advanced education in collaborative law, parent /child, divorce and landlord /tenant mediation, parent coordination, advocacy, special needs planning and disability issues. Barbara currently mediates family and civil cases for the Harvard Mediation Program and Metropolitan Mediation Services, Brookline. She is a case liaison for Small Claims Court in Quincy, Massachusetts and a trainer for the family and peer mediation programs at both Harvard and Metropolitan Mediation. Barbara also serves on Mediation Works Inc. Boston Municipal and District Court Mediation Panel.


Barbara integrates her experience in the health care field and community organizations with her practice as a mediator. She has served as a parent consultant at the Federation for Children with Special Needs and as an educational surrogate parent for the Massachusetts Department of Education. She co-chairs the No Place For Hate Committee of the Anti- Defamation League in Hingham MA, coordinating community based educational programs. As a licensed Occupational Therapist, Barbara provided services within public schools and community health settings for over 25 years.

Barbara received a BS in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University, a Masters Degree in Public Health from Boston University and a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She is a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation, Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, The Divorce Center, Association for Conflict Resolution, and the New England Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution.

 

Lisa Lewis

Lisa Lewis is a mediator, facilitator and conflict coach and a founding partner of Navigating Resolutions, an alternative dispute resolution practice. Her family mediation practice includes divorce, post divorce, child custody, disabilities and special needs, parent/child, business and healthcare issues.

Lisa mediates civil, housing and family matters in the Massachusetts District and Probate Courts through her affiliation with Mediation Works Incorporated of Boston.  Currently she is the Mediation Coordinator and member of the Peace Council for Dance New England.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Divorce Center.  Lisa has received extensive advanced mediation training in divorce, landlord/tenant, parenting coordination, legal issues and dealing with racism and homophobia.  She also has received advanced training in collaborative law, negotiation, facilitation and Non-Violent Communication.  She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the New England chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution, The Divorce Center, Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation and Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.

Lisa received her BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University, Marietta, Georgia.

She operated a private chiropractic practice for 18 years in Scituate, MA and is a member of the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society and the International Chiropractic Association.
